Happy Anniversary!

Let's hear it for The Killers' Sam's Town album who celebrates this 2nd of October a decade of absolute greatness!

*insert rock n roll confetti*

Sam's Town is one of the influential albums me and my siblings listen to. It was introduced to us by our dad who repeatedly plays it every afternoon for a couple of weeks back when we were still in Leyte.

It was one of those albums that we learn to memorize all the lyrics without looking them up and we have the songs in chronological order inside our head.

It won the BRIT Awards for Best International Album on 2007 and the ranked #1 on Rolling Stone's Most Underrated Album of the Decade last 2010.

The songs are inspired by some of the greatest artists the band adores like David Bowie, The Beatles and some 80s rock shiz in between.

And can I just say that Brandon Flower's voice makes me cry every time in Exitlude.

Strangely enough, all the songs in this album inspire me to become a filmmaker. No kidding.

And that's why I love The Killers so much because, say,  Read My Mind takes me to a carnival and circus themed cinematography, Uncle Jonny and My List makes me think of beautiful slow-mo disasters and bloddy massacre [please don't go] and my favorite song in the album For Reasons Unknown just gives me random scenes of Wes Anderson and Quentin Tarantino film styles.

But more importantly-- the whole album celebrates life.

Y'know that despite all the mistakes [we] done and times we want to give up everything, there will always be something that's gonna keep us fighting for life.

LOVE,

P.S

Speaking of celebrating life, happy birthday to my friend, Aubrey who is Vigan right now. Please don't forget my mini kalesa!
