Hate Didn't Lose
Same Sex Marriage
Sounds malicious if you ask me. Especially if you grew up in a very religious family like where I came from. Here's what I think: it's something new. And something new is either exciting or threatening. And in this case, it's pretty much both. The debate on the bill were discussed for a couple of years and finally they reached to a decision in legalizing it.
It's a never-ending celebration, really. But of course, life happens. Haters will always be there. And I don't blame them. Because like what my professor said, "People are entitled to opinions and you have to accept them so that it [whatever they say] won't hurt." And she's right.
What I don't get is that why do people have to create a rant about it? I mean, it's done. It's there. It's happening. It's decided.
LGBTs be happy.
Haters calm down.
Try to think of it this way: if you were fighting for something your whole life, blood and sweat for that matter, and you won... wouldn't you celebrate? You will. In any shape, way or form. And stop making the Bible as an excuse because it's not a really good excuse at all. I'm not a really religious person but I know one thing: love. Every character in the Bible defends that. It was God's weapon. Aren't you over reacting? You're only saying that it's not "appropriate" or it's "bad" because you have no idea what it feels like to be them. And you should be thankful because you're set to default and you can live your life normally without rejection and isolation. LGBTs might have wished to be like you; to be a norm. They might have tried, I don't know. But they'd be a living lie.
And for the LGBTs out there, congratulations to you! Just don't go around hurting people, though. If you don't want to carry more hate, stop mocking the religious images because people get offended easily. Don't abuse your right. Channel it to good and prove them wrong.
“No longer may this liberty be denied,” Justice Anthony M. Kennedy wrote
for the majority in the historic decision. “No union is more profound
than marriage, for it embodies the highest ideals of love, fidelity,
devotion, sacrifice and family. In forming a marital union, two people
become something greater than once they were.”

My point is, don't be all violent about it. Live up to the Golden Rule: "What you do not wish for yourself, do not do to others." Try to understand. Because this is what this world needs the most: understanding. It's easy to understand and its also easy to be misunderstood. We don't get each other. Don't hate what you don't get.
Know it.
Sink it in.
Live.
And most importantly...
